Zenda

Zenda is set on the background of the situation that had arisen in Maharashtra, a few months ago, due to split in a regional party over the issue of their supremo handing over the headship to his own son.

Instead of glorifying the party leadership and the internal family affairs, the film maker has tried to highlight the impact of such political crisis on the committed party workers.

The promos were looking promising, & so is the movie. Avadhoot Gupte in his directorial debut has delivered much more than estimated.

But, Mitra (Avadhoot Gupte) please make a note that people will expect the same level of direction from you in the future. Hope you will stand to it………

Life is all about listening to your heart and chasing your dreams

So, I saw Three Idiots last night. Life is all about listening to your heart and chasing your dreams. I think that’s the essence of 3 IDIOTS.

3 Idiots is about three engineering students who believe in the IDIOT term, which means I Do It On My Terms. Two friends (R. Madhavan and Sharman Joshi) are on a trip to find out a lost buddy. As they make their way through the landscape of Shimla, Manali & Ladakh, there starts another journey: their inner journey through memory lane and the story of their buddy in the flashback - the free-thinker Rancho (Aamir Khan) who, in his own way, touched and changed their lives.

3 Idiots is beautified with some colossal performances. Sharman Joshi is super brilliant; Madhavan really keeps you on your toes. Boman Irani is wonderful as the head of the engineering institute. Boman Irani comes up with a performance that is on par with his shining performance as Asthana in Munnabhai MBBS. Kareena Kapoor’s role is small but she gives maximum impact. Jaffed Jafferi and Pareekshit Sahani put in noteworthy performances. Finally, we have the icing on this sweet cake-Aamir Khan.

But the best thing in the movie is the song which I think aptly conveys today’s youth message……

Saari umar hum marr marr ke jee liye
Ek pal to ab humein jeene do jeene do
Saari umar hum marr marr ke jee liye
Ek pal to ab humein jeene do jeene do
Na na na ..
Give me some sunshine
Give me some rain
Give me another chance i wanna grow up once again
Give me some sunshine
Give me some rain
Give me another chance i wanna grow up once again

P. S. - I will remember the teacher day speech whole my life…

FPS - The Play.

To all those who enjoyed reading Chetan Bhagat's "Five Point Someone - What not to do at IIT", here's some good news! The book is now also a play! I visited Chetan's blog today and got to know about it. To read more about what Chetan say's, log on to http://www.chetanbhagat.com/blog

I am pretty excited! Hope to see it soon!

Paa

My cable guy has aired Paa at least a hundred times now. At no time did I feel like I should watch it. But, yesterday afternoon when Paa was again aired, I said let’s give it a shot. When the move finished I realized what an excellent movie I had missed till now.

Yet another marvel from Big B, Paa was a pleasure to watch. Touching on a very different subject line, Amitabh Bachchan as Auro was incredibly marvelous.

Paa is a brilliant movie with some of the excellent performances of the year. With a unique storyline, Paa not only touches the heart of the movie buffs but also brings in few tears to even the hardest of hearts. I think the movie is an example of how the Indian film industry is trying to push it’s limitations to a different level.

A special mention to the makeup artists for turning Big B into a realistic looking Progeria patient.
